A dynamic, boutique immigration law firm in Newark, New Jersey is seeking an experienced
Immigration Paralegal
for a long-term temporary assignment. This role is onsite in Newark, NJ and part-time: Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The hourly pay rate is
$25-35,
depending on experience.
Primary Duties: This is a high-volume practice with a significant focus on
VAWA
(Violence Against Women Act) cases. The
Immigration Paralegal
should have experience preparing and filing packages with USCIS and EOIR. The role demands discretion, compassion, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Additional duties include the following:
Review mail and provide daily status reports to the team.
Manage and track deadlines, including maintaining the firm’s immigration court calendar.
Communicate regularly with clients, including those in sensitive or urgent circumstances.
Handle telephone inquiries and client follow-ups.
Process incoming and outgoing mail.
Assist with filings before immigration court and government agencies.
Maintain accurate records using case management systems.
Requirements:
Experience with
family-based immigration cases
(I-130/I-485, I-751 removal of conditions)
Experience with
consular processing
and
CEAC
Familiarity with
EOIR
and immigration court procedures, including ECAS
Proficiency with
Cerenade (E-immigration)
Strong calendaring, organization, and deadline management skills
Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace (G Suite), especially calendaring
Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently
