Now Hiring Medical Collections Specialist
Step into a Medical Collections Specialist role in Crowley, supporting a busy healthcare team with precise coding, clean claims, and expert billing follow-through. If you're detail-oriented and thrive in fast-paced healthcare environments, you'll fit right in. You will perform follow-to-final collection activities on delinquent patient accounts, including statements, phone calls, and correspondence. Review and reconcile patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and outstanding balances. Contact patients, guarantors, and insurance carriers to obtain payment and resolve account issues. Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to maximize timely reimbursements. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), post payments, and adjust accounts appropriately. Investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims with insurance companies. Document all collection activities accurately in the billing system. Collaborate with medical billing and front-office teams to resolve coding or billing errors. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations. Provide excellent customer service to patients with patience and professionalism. Required Background
Minimum 2 years of medical collections and medical billing experience. Knowledge of medical insurance processes, billing codes (ICD-10, CPT), and payer requirements. Familiarity with practice management and billing software. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
