As we continue expanding across California, we are seeking a Director of Sales SLED IT Solutions to lead and accelerate growth within the State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) market. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic sales executive with a proven track record in public sector IT sales and team development. California (Remote) Frequent statewide travel required Position Overview The Director of Sales SLED IT Solutions is responsible for developing and executing a statewide growth strategy across California's SLED market. This role will lead business development efforts, strengthen executive-level relationships, expand manufacturer partnerships, and build a high-performing sales organization. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, understands California public sector procurement, and has a deep network within K12 districts, higher education institutions, and government agencies. This role reports directly to executive leadership and plays a critical part in shaping GigaKOM's long-term growth strategy. What You'll Do
Develop & Execute Statewide Sales Strategy Build and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to expand GigaKOM's SLED footprint Identify high-growth verticals and priority accounts across California Establish multi-year growth plans aligned with revenue and margin targets Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategy as needed Drive Revenue & Market Expansion Develop and manage a strong statewide sales pipeline Secure high-value contracts and long-term strategic agreements Expand market share within K12, higher education, and state/local government Support large RFP responses and strategic bid initiatives Lead & Develop the Sales Organization Recruit, mentor, and manage Account Executives and sales support staff Establish performance metrics, accountability standards, and growth plans Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture Provide coaching on complex deal strategy and executive engagement Strengthen Executive & Vendor Relationships Build and maintain relationships with Superintendents, CIOs, IT Directors, and procurement leaders Develop strategic partnerships with top manufacturers and distributors Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Operations to ensure seamless delivery Represent GigaKOM at industry events, conferences, and association meetings Executive Reporting & Performance Oversight Provide regular sales performance reports and forecasts to executive leadership Analyze pipeline health, conversion metrics, and revenue trends Ensure accurate CRM reporting and sales forecasting Align sales initiatives with company financial objectives Qualifications Required 8+ years of experience in IT sales with strong focus on SLED 5+ years in a sales leadership or management role Proven success growing revenue and closing high-value public sector deals Strong understanding of enterprise networking, infrastructure, and IT solutions Deep knowledge of California public sector procurement processes Ability and willingness to travel extensively within California Preferred Established relationships within California K12 and government agencies Experience managing vendor and manufacturer partnerships Experience leading complex RFP and bid strategies Background working with enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, HPE-Aruba, Extreme, etc.) Core Competencies Strategic planning and execution Executive-level relationship development Public sector sales expertise Leadership and team development Negotiation and contract management Pipeline forecasting and performance management Market analysis and competitive positioning Performance Metrics Achievement of statewide SLED revenue and margin targets Expansion of strategic accounts and partnerships Growth and retention of high-performing sales team members Pipeline health and forecast accuracy Client satisfaction and long-term contract renewals Compensation & Benefits Competitive executive base salary Performance-based incentive plan Comprehensive medical and dental coverage Retirement plan Executive-level bonus opportunities Professional development and leadership growth support Why Join GigaKOM?
