OUR OPENING Journey Group is seeking a

Marketing Communications Manager

to join our team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and execute internal and external marketing and communication strategies that support our brand, business goals, and growth. You will manage content, communications, public relations, and digital efforts while leading a small team and partnering across the organization to elevate Journey Group's visibility and impact.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER?

Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies aligned with company goals

Create and manage internal and external communications across multiple platforms

Lead content strategy, including website, social media, email, and marketing materials

Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels

Manage public relations efforts, including media outreach and press releases

Use data and analytics to evaluate performance and guide strategy

Collaborate with internal teams to gather and share key information

Support lead generation and brand awareness initiatives

Develop crisis communication plans and support issue management

Oversee marketing projects, timelines, and budgets using project management tools

Lead and mentor marketing team members, setting priorities and ensuring execution

Stay current on marketing trends, tools, and best practices

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION NEEDED

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field

5-10 years of progressive marketing and communications experience

Experience leading or mentoring a team

Experience in both strategic planning and hands-on execution

Preferred:

Graphic design experience

Photography and/or videography experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED

Strong strategic thinking and marketing acumen

Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Strong understanding of branding, messaging, and audience engagement

Analytical mindset with ability to use data to drive decisions

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

High attention to detail and organization

Ability to lead as a hands-on, working manager

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and marketing tools

Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools
