Deputy Digital Director Job Description Overview The Pennsylvania Democrats are seeking an experienced Deputy Digital Director to join the team! The Deputy Digital Director will report to the Digital Director and help execute an overarching digital strategy across platforms to ensure a seamless, clear, and effective digital presence. The Deputy Digital Director will collaborate across teams (state-wide candidates at the top of the ticket and the Coordinated Campaign) to ensure a centralized approach and alignment in messaging. The Deputy Digital Director should anticipate creating innovative content as well as tracking online trends for maximum engagement, maintaining digital asset library, and drafting rapid response content as needed. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is committed to electing Democrats at every level of government and building a strong, inclusive organization across the Commonwealth. This is a full-time position based in Harrisburg, PA, with potential travel throughout the state. Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and execute social media strategy across multiple platforms under the general supervision of the Digital Director utilizing content sourced from and/or developed in collaboration with state-wide candidates at the top of the ticket and the Coordinated Campaign.
Execute online digital best practices and ensure related accounts are doing the same.
Build and manage a robust library of graphic and video content
Draft rapid response content with Digital Director across social media platforms
Maintain new and build on existing relationships with local, micro, and large-scale influencers who create content relevant and beneficial to the Shapiro for Pennsylvania campaign, state-wide candidates at the top of the ticket, Pennsylvania, and/or its many communities.
Monitor performance metrics and data integrity across digital audiences and report these findings to the Digital Director; identify challenges and proactively adjust strategy to drive results
Build and contribute to all PA Dems online communities and work closely with the Coordinated Campaigns Digital Deputies to ensure seamless collaboration and content alignment.
Partner closely with the Digital Director on social strategy, content creation, and alignment with campaigns across the Commonwealth.
Lead special projects or priority initiatives as assigned by the Digital Director. Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience
2+ cycles of digital campaign experience with cross team collaboration or 2 years of digital content creation experience
Basic knowledge of digital tools (Canva, Mail Chimp, Mobilize, Wordpress, etc.)
Social media management and general savviness; familiarity with digital community management
Video content creation
Strong background in graphic design software ( Canva preferred, Adobe is a bonus)
Familiarity with social listening and metric tracking tools a bonus
Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a motivating, inclusive, and accountable culture online and in person.
Familiarity with NGP VAN and organizing tools is a bonus.
Strong communication, rapid response, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
