**Position Type:** Full-Time (LVN Required)

**Benefits:** Comprehensive benefits package included**General Purpose:**The **Director of Staff Development (DSD)** is responsible for planning and implementing facility orientation, job skills training, in-service education, and, if applicable, a Certification Training Program for nursing assistants as required by regulations. The DSD works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and the Administrator to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is consistently maintained. This role also involves providing direct resident and patient care.**Essential Duties:*** Coordinate and participate in the recruitment and hiring of staff.* Oversee the completion and processing of employment-related documentation.* Coordinate payroll and employee benefit programs.* Build positive relationships with residents and families, fostering cooperation among employees.* Plan, conduct, document, and coordinate all required Fire/Internal Disaster and External Mass Casualty Drills.* Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed, and professional appearance.* Generate enthusiasm and develop cooperative relationships with employees.* Utilize information from Licensing and Certification Surveys, Employee Evaluations, Facility Rounds, and recommendations from the Administrator and department heads to identify educational needs.* Organize in-service education programs for staff, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.* Prepare an annual in-service education schedule and post a monthly in-service calendar.* Maintain records of in-services as required by regulations.* Conduct meaningful in-service education programs for nursing personnel and all facility staff to ensure competency in new skills, as directed by the Administrator.* Make rounds and observe the delivery of patient care.* Coordinate the infection control surveillance program.* Supervise staff and assist with appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.* Complete all forms required by the Department of Health in relation to in-service and education programs.* Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by authorized government agencies as requested.* Provide direct resident/patient care as needed.* Maintain confidentiality of all employee, resident, and patient information at all times.**Supervisory Requirements:*** Assist in the overall supervision and management of staff to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.**Qualifications:*** Current **LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)** license required.* Proven experience in staff development or education within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.* Strong leadership and communication skills.* Ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for staff development and quality patient care, we invite you to apply for the **Director of Staff Development** position at **Victorian Post Acute on Pine Street**!PACS is revolutionizing the delivery and leadership of post-acute healthcare and support services across the country.
