Product and Marketing Intern
Nichols College, Dudley, MA, United States
and the job listing Expires on May 4, 2026
Nearside (trynearside.com ) is a relationship intelligence app that helps people understand their patterns across all their relationships — friends, family, partners, coworkers, and themselves. Built on real therapeutic frameworks like the Gottman Method, Nonviolent Communication, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, Nearside gives users honest insight into how they show up in relationships — not just validation. We’re early-stage, based in Oakland, CA, and moving fast.
Nearside is a part of Freckles , which exists to leverage technology to strengthen real world relationships.
The Role We’re looking for an intern to work directly with the founder (Harvard MBA/MPP) to help launch and grow Nearside. This is a broad, hands‑on role — you’ll touch marketing, product, and growth strategy, not just one narrow function. If you’re excited about the intersection of psychology, technology, and relationships, this is a chance to help shape something from the ground up.
What You Might Work On
Help build and launch Nearside’s referral and growth programs
Create and test short‑form content about relationship patterns, attachment styles, and communication
Recruit early users and gather feedback on the product
Identify and connect with student creators and communities in the mental health and personal growth space
Help iterate on product messaging, onboarding, and user experience based on what you’re hearing from real users
Contribute ideas on positioning, strategy, and what resonates with a college‑age audience
The specifics will evolve based on what Nearside needs and what you’re good at. That’s the nature of an early‑stage startup.
What You’ll Gain
Direct experience launching a product at an early‑stage startup, working 1:1 with the founder
Skills across growth marketing, content strategy, product feedback, and community building
Understanding of how AI products are designed around real therapeutic and psychological frameworks
A strong reference and LinkedIn recommendation
Free Nearside premium access
Compensation $17/hour, 5‑20 hours per week depending on availability and project needs. Fully remote, flexible schedule. We care about output, not when you’re online.
Who We’re Looking For
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (must be 18+)
Interested in relationships, psychology, self‑awareness, or personal growth
Comfortable on social media and able to communicate authentically
Self‑directed — this is a remote role with real autonomy and real responsibility
No specific major required. We care more about how you think than what you study.
Nearside also has an affiliate referral program for anyone interested in sharing the product. Visit trynearside.com/refer for details.
