Architectural Drafter

Spur Design is looking for an Architectural Drafter to support the production and coordination of construction documents across a variety of project types. This role will focus on drafting, BIM support, and team collaboration while contributing to a firm that values growth, teamwork, and creating spaces for the good of others.
Responsibilities
Provide architectural and technical support on various project types within Spur Design including AutoCAD/BIM project set-up, development, and detailing
As requested, assist in the development of tools and standards related to the BIM process and internal Spur Design drafting standards
Assist in the operations of Spur Design offices in the maintenance of office systems including the updating of trade libraries and filing systems
Assist the Project Architect and/or other Architectural Designers in preparing and ensuring the completion of fully coordinated Construction Documents that comply with all project and code requirements
Assist the Project Architect in the coordination of sub-consultants at all production and drawing coordination levels
Ensure project compliance with local, federal, and VA TIL standards
Ensure compliance with Spur drafting and quality control standards
Participate in mentorship programs to empower all Spur employees
At all times, be a good representative of Spur inside and outside of the office
Qualifications
Individual with 2+ years experience (non-licensed)
Position for drafting architectural drawings and details
Associates degree in drafting from technical school or community college preferred
Experienced in design software including but not limited to AutoCAD and Revit
Individual with strong creative design skills and the ability to find and implement unique solutions to problems
Individual with strong time management skills - must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining tight project schedules
Individual possesses good customer service skills, along with communication and interpersonal skills between the architectural team and consultants
Individual shows adaptability and commitment to improve - Completes small tasks when given direction to improve overall technical skills

Dental Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee and family premiums
Vision Insurance. employer covers 100% of employee and family premiums
Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution. This plan is a “safe harbor” eligible plan and, subsequently, no vesting period is required past initial eligibility requirements.
Spur Design also offers reimbursement of training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval by ownership.
