POSITION SUMMARY The ICT Estimator – ISP Construction is a mid-level estimating professional responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for low-voltage and ISP construction projects. This role supports the full preconstruction lifecycle, including reviewing bid documents, performing quantity takeoffs, developing labor and material pricing, and assisting with system design for structured cabling, ISP infrastructure, access control, video surveillance, AV, DAS, and related systems.
The Estimator collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure proposals are complete, compliant, and aligned with project requirements and company margin goals. This position is ideal for an estimator with hands‑on industry experience who can independently manage estimates of moderate complexity while continuing to refine technical expertise, pricing strategies, and risk awareness in a fast‑paced bidding environment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Estimating Leadership
Manage all estimating activities for low voltage projects including structured cabling, ISP, access control, video surveillance, AV, DAS, and related systems.
Review bid opportunities for scope, risk, contract requirements, and profitability.
Develop detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
Ensure estimates align with historical job cost data and margin targets.
Standardize estimating methodologies, tools, and templates.
Assist with designing structured cabling, ISP, access control, video surveillance, AV, DAS, and related systems.
Proposal Development
Lead proposal creation including scopes of work, pricing narratives, exclusions, assumptions, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate with sales, operations, and engineering to ensure accurate and complete proposals.
Manage proposal schedules, deadlines, and submission requirements.
Ensure proposals meet RFP, RFI/RFQ, and customer specifications.
Pricing & Cost Control
Establish pricing strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions.
Maintain vendor pricing, labor rates, and cost databases.
Support value engineering efforts to improve competitiveness while protecting margins.
Assist leadership with bid/no‑bid analysis and risk assessment.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with project managers and operations to support smooth handoff from sales to execution.
Work with design team & assist with designs as needed.
Participate in post‑award reviews and job cost analysis to improve estimating accuracy.
Creation and delivery of As‑Builts and other closeout documentation.
Education and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. RCDD & BICSI experience is highly encouraged & preferred.
2+ years of estimating experience in low voltage, electrical, or technology systems industries.
Proven experience preparing competitive bids and proposals for commercial and industrial projects.
Strong understanding of low voltage systems, labor productivity, and material costs.
Experience with estimating software and tools (e.g., OnScreen Takeoff(OST), QuickBid, Bluebeam, Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, Revizto or similar).
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Working Conditions
Office‑based/hybrid with collaboration across sales and operations teams.
Occasional job site visits to support estimating accuracy.
Fast‑paced environment with multiple concurrent bid deadlines.
