The Hyatt Shared Service Center provides accounting and customer support for over 200 Hyatt Hotels in North America and Latin America. This role will serve as a liaison between the absence management vendor (Sedgwick), worker’s compensation TPA (Gallagher Bassett) and property leadership and HR and colleagues on LOA. The role will be responsible for a designated portfolio of hotels/offices ensuring effective and efficient colleague absence management, disability accommodation (both temporary & permanent) and return to work coordination.
Essential Functions
Serve as the main point of contact for vendors (Sedgwick and Gallagher Bassett) inquiries related to a colleague's request. This includes interpretation of eligibility information, job description, union contract interpretation, etc.
Serve as the main point of contact for hotel/property leadership for all inquiries related to a colleague’s approved/denied absence/leave, accommodation, restrictions or return to work.
Administer out of scope colleague documentation. To include bona fide job offers, etc.
Coordinate employment decisions with legal and local leadership in situations of a colleague ineligibility for approved time, exhausting available leave time, failure to return approved paperwork, failure to return from leave, etc.
Coordinate ADA interactive process between colleague, vendor (Sedgwick and Gallagher Bassett) and local leadership. To include identification of potential accommodations, local training, securing resources for accommodation, etc.
Facilitate return‑to‑work (RTW) and accommodation efforts through negotiation with local hotel/property leadership, treatment provider and colleague; complete all accommodation/RTW related jurisdictional or company directed documentation, notification, or reporting; and document contact in risk portal.
Contact hotel leadership to identify specific information regarding employment area (i.e. training/education needed, physical demands, wages and benefits, availability, etc.); ascertain the specific physical tolerances, vocational skills and essential job functions needed for specific employment positions as requested by referral sources; and recommend necessary adaptive equipment as needed.
Proactively identify absence trends within portfolio of hotels and work with local HR to address. To include potential misuse of leave policy, accommodations, etc.
Administer out of scope leaves. To include domestic violence, stalking, victims of crime, etc. that do not have supporting medical.
Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values (included in all job descriptions).

Qualifications Experience
3 years of experience in absence management policy, procedure and administration
Prior experience with workers compensation claims and OSHA regulations and reporting
Prior experience with effectively collaborating and influencing operations leaders
Experience in multiple markets/properties preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or a related field preferred
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms

To work remotely, you must be able to adhere to our IT requirements, including, but not limited to the following: High Speed Internet service required.
