Serves as Golden Clear Creek Ambassador to promote, educate, and inform visitors using the Clear Creek Corridor for leisure activities. The ideal Clear Creek Ambassador maintains a positive attitude and enthusiasm as they assist City visitors. Must be available to work 4‑6 hour standing or walking shifts during the day, evenings and weekends, especially Friday through Sunday.

Greets visitors in the Clear Creek corridor within the City and at key locations along the Clear Creek trail, including some stationary posts and some walking.

Provides information and education about creek conditions, rules and regulations, local history, directions to various services, landmarks, and attractions.

Promptly and effectively responds to visitor inquiries and concerns.

Works with Park Rangers, communicating status of events and situations within the corridor.

Protects the best interests of creek users, the creek, and City staff through proactive, positive, and collaborative communication.

Minimum 18 years of age by date of hire. Must have excellent customer service, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present information in a pleasant, helpful and enthusiastic manner. Must possess resiliency and a positive attitude. Ability to deal with diverse groups of people. Knowledge of the Clear Creek corridor, City rules and regulations, local services and attractions is expected.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret City of Golden policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with co‑workers, citizens and others verbally and in writing. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee will regularly walk and stand for long periods of time. Position requires exposure to all types of weather. Ability to talk and hear through face‑to‑face communications. Ability to see to provide directions to customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and sun. Outdoor work environment with moderate noise levels.
