The Role We are seeking a New York City based Senior Lighting Designer with a strong creative design sensibility, technical expertise to lead projects from concept through construction.
This role is ideal for a designer who is confident working independently, capable of driving design decisions, and experienced in managing both the creative and technical aspects of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with our Studio Leaders, Associate Designers & Project Designers in design efforts from schematic design through construction administration.
Prepare and develop drawing packages, capture redlines and documentation standards.
Manage project timelines, deliverables and internal team workflow.
Support fixture research, specifications and cutsheets.
Perform lighting calculations and analysis (Agi32 or similar)
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.
Attend coordination meetings and visit job sites regularly. Travel within the United States may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering or Lighting Design.
Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in Architectural Lighting Design or equivalent.
AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Adobe Suites, Revu Bluebeam, Agi32 or other light modelling software, COMCheck or other energy compliancy software.
Familiarity with ASHRAE, Title 24, IES Standards, LEED or other energy compliance standards is a plus but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
On-site experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally preferred.
On-site position. Hybrid time can be considered.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
No relocation provided.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
