ASRC Federal Broadleaf Division is seeking qualified candidates for our Strategic Communication Coordinator position in support of our National Guard customer located at Arlington, VA. Position Summary This is a technical skills position working at the Army National Guard (ARNG) G-4 to support enterprise communication. The position serves as graphic designer, technical writer, photographer, layout designer, senior editor, and publisher for the ARNG G-4 Directorates quarterly “LOG Focus” newsletter / magazine and supplemental publications.
In this capacity, the position collaborates with ARNG G-4 leadership to determine themes and desired articles, coordinates article submissions with subject matter experts across the ARNG logistics community, reviews and edits all submissions to meet professional standards, consolidates articles and other inputs to develop each complete Log Focus edition, and ultimately publishes the newsletter to all fifty‑four (54) States, Territories, and District of Columbia.
The position also serves as ARNG G-4’s Guard Knowledge Network (GKN) website Site Collections Administrator. Responsibilities include designing the website layout, reviewing and maintaining website content, and providing Tier 1 level technical support across the ARNG G-4, including two (2) Divisions, ten (10) Branches, multiple teams, and two (2) off‑site offices in separate commands.
Additionally, the role assists in coordinating, administering, and facilitating the ARNG G-4 Logistics National Workshop (LNW), facilitating the registration process, creating all graphics, program, and signage for the event.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead development and publication of quarterly Log Focus newsletter / magazine, including soliciting articles, conducting research and interviews, reviewing and editing content, developing graphics, layout, and coordinating leadership approvals.
Conduct research, as needed, and develop products to enhance Log Focus visual acuity and attractiveness.
Maintain and refine the Log Focus development, editing, and publishing standard operating procedure (SOP), ensuring personnel familiarity.
Research, write, and edit articles highlighting programs and services of interest to the Log Focus audience.
Execute other actions and taskings to ensure on‑time and to‑standard Log Focus publication.
Serve as Site Collections Administrator, maintaining the ARNG G-4 Guard Knowledge Network (GKN) website using MS SharePoint, collaborating on layout revisions and ensuring content currency.
Support Logistics National Workshop (LNW) planning and execution, developing and publishing all LNW graphics, coordinating pre‑LNW registration, leading on‑site registration support, capturing event photography, and managing snack/refreshment, itinerary, and transportation.
Support developing presentations and products for ARNG G-4 leadership updates, monthly ARNG G-4 / United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO) synchronization updates, and other events.
Update ARNG G-4 leadership on Log Focus, GKN, LNW, and other strategic communications actions and issues.
Execute other strategic communications actions and taskings.
Complete monthly status reports in a timely manner and elevate to Military and contract leads.
Minimum 2 years' experience in positions requiring written product editing, published product graphics design, and layout.
Clearance Level
Active Secret clearance or eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
Education
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or another related field with 2–4 years of experience or equivalent.

Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate familiarity with “The Army Writing Style.”
Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a range of personnel and audiences.
Must demonstrate maturity to work at a senior headquarters echelon and with senior level personnel.
A working knowledge of the Army, Army Reserve, National Guard Bureau (NGB), Army National Guard (ARNG), and ARNG Directorate is desired.
Must demonstrate the ability to simultaneously plan, develop, coordinate, and complete multiple and varied actions.
Must demonstrate timeliness, responsiveness, and natural proactiveness.
Experience
Minimum 1 year using Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Minimum 1 year using Adobe Acrobat.
Minimum 1 year using Canva or other graphic design software.
Minimum 2 years using Microsoft SharePoint.
