
Golf Shop Manager/Assistant Golf Professional

Overview
Essential Functions:
Oversee all inside & outside golf operations including but not limited to Golf Shop, Bag Drop, Cart Barn, Golf Carts & Driving Range.
Work shifts at the Pro Shop Counter (Answering Phones, Checking Golfers In, Customer Service Inquiries).
Enforce club policies on outside Food & Beverage with arriving guests.
Assist with performing and overseeing all opening and closing procedures for the entire front of house golf operation.
Oversee cart barn and bag drop area and maintain organization and cleanliness of the area and the surrounding grounds. Maintain a neat, clean, organized & safe work environment.
Hold outside staff accountable and ensure golf carts are cleaned daily and presented for customer use.
Hold outside staff responsible for a weekly deep clean of golf carts. The entire fleet does not need to be cleaned at once; a rotating schedule keeps all carts updated within a manageable timeframe.
Tournament and outing operations.
Organize golf outings and be on site from start to finish for all events.
Keep the golf shop clean and orderly; regularly move merchandise to maintain a fresh appearance.
Assist in managing the club handicapping system by reconciling player lists with the club accountant and adding new customers after GHIN memberships are purchased in the golf shop.
Assist in managing the Loyalty Club Program by reconciling player lists with the club accountant and adding new customers after enrollment.
Maintain course advertising on cart placards, collaborating with the General Manager; placards should never be empty.
Act as a role model and leader for all employees by demonstrating expected behavior and work ethic.
Effectively deal with internal and external customers, handling those requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy; respond to guests, communicate needs to appropriate departments promptly and courteously, and never ignore customer concerns.
Maintain open communication with the General Manager and Director of Golf.
Assist with any additional daily golf operations directed by the General Manager and Director of Golf.
Host monthly staff meetings to review job descriptions with new employees and address other issues.
Possess the ability to bend and lift objects of different weights, with or without assistance.
Assist Director of Food & Beverage with event set up and utilize outside golf staff to help with time permits during downtime.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
