Senior Major & Planned Giving Officer
position.
As a member of the St. Catherine University Development staff, the Sr. Major & Planned Giving Officer is responsible for building relationships and closing major and planned gifts. The Sr. Major and Planned Giving Officer is lead on planned gifts involving complex assets and will advise in developing the institution's planned giving program. The Sr. Planned Giving Officer serves as an ambassador of the University with all external publics.
Major Responsibilities Fundraising
Manage a portfolio of 120 major and planned giving prospects.
Conduct face-to-face meetings with 15 donor/prospects to advance their movement in the development cycle. Meetings will include identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donor/prospects.
Cultivate donors through engagement with the University's events and activities and/or meaningful volunteer roles.
Solicit planned, major and restricted gifts. 18-24 mg/pg solicitations annually.
Serve as department point person for complex planned gifts.
Steward relationships with donors through intentional measures including regular communication and engagement in stewardship events.
Oversight of PG Strategy and Major/PG Gift documentation
Develop planned giving strategies to support robust planned giving program.
Mentor development colleagues in planned giving tools and use of illustrations.
Lead in development of planned giving collateral materials.
Serve as point person for third party vendors for planned giving (e.g., Free Will).
Oversight of gift agreements from MGO, legacy and planned giving on development dev side.
Lead on Realized Planned Giving not otherwise assigned and which need special review or action.
Administrative and Supervisory
Serves as lead on major gift team.
Coordinates major gifts/ planned giving strategies.
Review portfolio assignments and movement.
Review major gifts/ planned giving pipeline and adjust strategies to closure, reviews and monitors BOE, unfulfilled pledges that are mg, holding account
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
5 years of demonstrated capacity in cultivating, soliciting and closing planned and major gifts to achieve goals
Demonstrated ability in working with gift planning vehicles and complex assets including gift annuities, CRTs, securities, IRSAs, endowments, insurance and real estate
Demonstrated ability to make public presentation
Confidentiality
Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, donors and others in the Development and External Relations process
Demonstrated competency in writing, public speaking and interpersonal communication
Demonstrated competency with relational databases, Microsoft Office products, electronic donor information and tracking systems
Demonstrated track record with respect to detail orientation and accuracy
Travel, evening, weekend and flexible work schedule as required
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in related profession
Campaign experience and results
Fundraising experience in higher education
Graduate of St. Catherine University

Compensation Annual wage is $88,125.44 - $123,410.87 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
