We are seeking an
Associate Director of Accounting
to oversee the accurate and timely consolidation, analysis, and reporting of the Company's financial results. This role plays a critical part in the monthly close process and supports both internal leadership and external stakeholders through high‑quality financial reporting.
The
Associate Director of Accounting
requires a strong blend of accounting expertise, analytical capability, and clear communication to effectively manage the monthly close process and address complex accounting matters. Key deliverables include consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and reconciliations for Executive Management, as well as external reporting to banks, shareholders, and other stakeholders. The position is responsible for consolidation, intercompany, and review activities in compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements, and also supports financial reporting system implementations and other ad hoc initiatives.

Vienna, Virginia (Hybrid – 2‑3 days in office)
Salary:
$165k – $180k + bonus

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, consolidation and elimination entries, account reconciliations, roll‑forwards, and variance analyses.
Oversee intercompany accounting and eliminations across multiple entities.
Review payroll‑ and compensation‑related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, partnering with HR and Payroll as needed.
Technical Accounting
Research, document, and implement accounting guidance, including new standards and complex accounting matters (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, equity, business combinations).
Prepare technical accounting memoranda and support accounting treatment for M&A transactions, restructuring activities, and new business initiatives.
Lead accounting‑related projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements to support scale.
Audit, Internal Controls & Compliance
Serve as a primary liaison for external auditors, supporting interim and year‑end audits, tax schedules, and audit deliverables.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline close processes, improve timelines, and enhance reporting quality.
Support ERP implementations and optimizations (e.g., NetSuite).
Leadership, Business Partnership & Special Projects
Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
Partner with FP&A on budget‑to‑actual analysis, forecasting, and cash‑flow reporting for lenders and investors.
Support board, lender, and investor reporting; finance transformation initiatives; and cross‑functional strategic projects.
Adhere to Clarest Health’s Code of Conduct, follow Company’s Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either the direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
5‑8 years of experience in accounting required; public accounting experience preferred.
Skills + Abilities
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills strongly preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
