Job Title: Switchgear Sales Engineer Location: Marietta, Ohio (Onsite | Limited Travel Required)

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Note: Candidates must be based in Ohio and have direct experience working with switchgear.

Role Summary The Switchgear Sales Engineer will develop technical solutions and customer proposals for low‑voltage switchgear and related power distribution systems. This includes preparing layout drawings, reviewing electrical diagrams, selecting components, and supporting the quotation process with accuracy and speed.

This position is customer‑facing and requires strong communication skills, responsiveness, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Review project specifications, one‑line diagrams, and supporting documentation

Create switchgear layouts and elevation drawings for proposals and submittals

Support and manage quotation activities in a timely manner

Size and specify electrical components, including breakers and control systems

Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial proposals

Partner with engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable

Participate in customer discussions to clarify scope and resolve technical questions

Contribute to value engineering initiatives to balance cost and performance

Maintain a high level of responsiveness in a deadline‑driven environment

Travel occasionally for customer meetings or project‑related discussions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable hands‑on experience

3-8+ years of experience with low‑voltage switchgear, power systems, or electrical distribution equipment

Strong ability to interpret one‑line diagrams and electrical schematics

Experience specifying breakers and related components (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Eaton, Siemens)

Familiarity with UL standards and data center applications is a plus

Experience with AutoCAD or similar design platforms

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial considerations
