The Sales Commission Analyst is responsible for the accurate calculation, validation, and distribution of commission reports for the internal sales teams. This role ensures commission plans are executed consistently, transparently, and in alignment with company policies.
The Analyst maintains the commission calendar, manages commission-related communications, and serves as the primary point of contact for questions regarding commission calculations, data integrity, and plan interpretation.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Payroll, and Business Intelligence.
THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION WITH 3 DAYS IN OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Commission Calculation & Reporting
Prepare accurate biweekly/monthly/quarterly commission calculations for internal sales teams
Validate sales performance data against CRM and data systems
Generate and distribute individual commission statements to sales representatives
Ensure calculations align with approved commission plans and compensation structures
Maintain documentation supporting all calculations and adjustments
2. Commission Calendar Management
Maintain and publish the annual commission calendar (calculation, review, approval, and payout deadlines)
Coordinate timelines across Sales Leadership, Finance, and Payroll
Ensure timely processing and distribution of commission reports in accordance with the Commission Calendar
Proactively communicate milestone dates and required inputs
3. Communication & Plan Support
Serve as primary point of contact for commission-related questions
Provide clear explanations of commission calculations and adjustments
Support onboarding sessions related to compensation plans
Document FAQs and common scenarios for consistent communication
Partner with Sales Leadership to clarify plan interpretation and edge cases
4. Data Integrity & Controls
Audit commission calculations for accuracy and completeness
Identify discrepancies in CRM data, financial data, or performance metrics
Recommend process improvements to reduce manual errors
Maintain version control of commission plans and calculation logic
Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
5. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare summary reports on commission trends and payout analysis
Analyze commission effectiveness and alignment with revenue goals
Provide insights into attainment rates and compensation distribution
Support Finance with accrual calculations and forecasting
Requirements Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation, lookups)
Strong data reconciliation and attention to detail
Experience with CRM systems and sales performance data
Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (AWS Quick Suite, Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred
Core Competencies

Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive compensation information confidentially
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle high-volume inquiries during commission cycles
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
2–5 years of experience in sales commissions, sales operations, finance, or compensation analysis
Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot)
Experience preparing commission calculations or incentive compensation reporting preferred
Experience in Payments industry and plus but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions: This is a hybrid position with days in office.
Physical Activities: Occasional standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, typing on a computer keyboard, and speaking on the telephone. Frequent repetitive motions.
