Bauer & Company is anAustin-basedaccounting firm that only performs audits and reviews.Our clients aregenerally smallandmedium-sized businesses.We perform a significant majority of our audits remotely.But depending on client requirements, we sometimes travel to client locations.
We are looking for aSenior Auditor toassistwith our growing audit practice. We have a flexible work environment, annual performance bonuses and company paid health insurance for full-time employees. The Senior Auditor must be meticulous and analytical, withdeepknowledge of auditing practices. We expect you to be reliable, with strong organizational skills, as well asexpertisein risk management and compliance.
Our most successful team members excel at managing multiple engagements and transitioning seamlessly between clients. Theydemonstratestrong judgment and problem-solving skills, often mentoring less experienced team members and supporting clients who may need extra guidance, all while driving audits totimelyandaccuratecompletion. They take ownership of their work, support their teammates, and bringa strong senseof accountability and follow-through to every engagement.
We expect the Senior Auditor tostart working in our Austin office forthe first several weeks of employment fortrainingand onboarding.After30 days,we will work with the employee on an agreed uponremoteschedule.
Responsibilities
Plan and oversee the auditing process
Allocate responsibilities to junior and staff auditors
Review team members' work for accuracy and compliance
Perform effective risk and control assessments
Complete audits on time andsubmitreports to auditing manager
Present audit findings and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency
Skills
Proven experience as an auditor
In-depth understanding of auditing and GAAP
Updated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Organizational and leadership abilities
Integrity and reliability
BSc/BA in Accounting or Finance; master's degree and professional certification (e.CPA, CMA) are pluses
