
Community Engagement Coordinator

Description
The Community Engagement Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, logistical, and operational support to advance the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's (CSO) community engagement initiatives. The role serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, assists in the planning and execution of programs and events, and maintains accurate departmental records and documentation. Additionally, the Coordinator supports senior leadership through scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation.
Responsibilities Community Engagement Administrative Support
Provide administrative and logistical support for the Community Engagement team.
Serve as on-site contact for internal and external stakeholders with questions related to community engagement initiatives.
Cultivate a welcoming environment for special guests and visitors to department.
Assist in the planning and implementation of special projects and events.
Collaborate with department staff on Community Engagement related reports and research.
Maintain records in Tessitura, OPAS, and additional databases.
Assist in marketing and communication projects.
Provide administrative and logistical support for Classical Roots Community Choir.
Provide administrative support to the Chief Inclusion Officer, Director of Community Engagement, and Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager, including but not limited to, the scheduling of meetings, drafting and editing correspondence, expense reports management, invitation responses and travel coordination.
Coordinate committee and other key stakeholder meetings in terms of logistics, material preparation, guest invitations, and taking minutes when appropriate.
Develop PowerPoint presentations for various stakeholder meetings.
Reflect the CSO's mission, vision, and values in your work as well as supporting a respectful organizational culture.
Other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Director of Community Engagement
Requirements Qualifications
1 to 2 years of experience in administrative support
Experience working with diverse groups
Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience scheduling and coordinating events
Experience providing administrative support to an individual or team
Strong written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely way with external and internal constituencies
Enthusiasm for classical music
Schedule
The typical schedule is in the office, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch.
There will be times when evening and/or weekend events will require coverage. The Director of Community Engagement will provide two weeks' notice of any nonstandard work shifts. When that happens, the Coordinator will work with the Director to create a flexed 40-hour work week schedule.
Classical Roots Choir coverage runs from January to April, typically on Saturday mornings. Coverage includes all dress rehearsals, the day of the concert, and the concert afterparty.
Brady Block Party coverage run through the summer, typically June through July. The exact concert dates are shared well in advance.
