About The Role The Fresh Blooms Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the full purchasing lifecycle, ensuring cost-effective procurement, timely delivery of goods, and accurate vendor management. This role requires daily collaboration with internal sales teams and external vendors, as well as coordination of item setup and production support.
What You’ll Do
Create, send, and manage Purchase Orders (POs)
Process PO confirmations, price adjustments, date changes, and substitutions
Monitor vendor performance for delivery timelines and product quality
Maintain daily communication with sales teams to support purchasing needs
Respond to vendor inquiries, negotiate pricing, and manage vendor relationships
Generate and analyze daily reports to identify purchasing needs and issues
Maintain accurate item setup, pricing, and vendor data in company systems
Conduct quotes and re-quotes, particularly for fresh flower products
Create sample POs and manage sample approval processes
Coordinate production schedules with suppliers
Create and maintain item information for new items
Develop flyers and order sheets to support the sales team

Qualifications What You’ll Bring
Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, Buyer or in a similar procurement role
Floral product knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Problem-solving skills to handle substitutions, pricing changes, and discrepancies
Knowledge of inventory and purchasing management systems
