Bryant Elementary Beacon Director

The Beacon Director provides overall leadership, vision, and management of the Bryant Elementary School Beacon Program. This role ensures high-quality youth development, academic enrichment, family engagement, behavioral health, and community school services aligned with the SFUSD Beacon Community Schools Framework, the San Francisco Beacon Initiative, DCYF, ExCEL, and GSFRC's mission and values. The Beacon Director co-leads the Beacon Community School effort at Bryant with the school principal and SFUSD Community School Coordinator and serves as a primary liaison between GSFRC, the school, families, community partners, and funders. Specific Responsibilities: Lead the strategic vision and daily operations of the Bryant Beacon Program Lead Beacon Community School implementation collaboratively with the Principal and Community School Coordinator Develop strong coordination, relationships, and open communication with school staff, parents, and partners. Align school-based and community-based supports to advance student success Use data to assess needs, measure outcomes, and gather feedback from school community to continuously improve programming Program Implementation & Quality: Ensure compliance with DCYF, ExCEL, SF Beacon Initiative, and SFUSD requirements Oversee program evaluation, quality improvement, and required reporting Maintain accurate program records and documentation Staff Leadership & Supervision: Hire, train, supervise, and support Beacon manager and youth development staff Coach and mentor staff, facilitate team meetings, and support professional development Foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented site culture Provide supervision in accordance with organizational policies and applicable employment laws to ensure compliance with HR standards, documentation requirements, and performance management protocols. Partnerships & Family Engagement: Recruit and manage community-based program partners Lead family engagement and partnership efforts in collaboration with school staff Represent the Bryant Beacon Program at school, community, and city-wide meetings Fiscal & Grant Management: Develop and manage the Beacon Program budget with the support of the Director of Youth Services, Operations Manager and GSFRC Fiscal Team Oversee contracts, MOUs, and subcontractors under the direction of the Director of Youth Services Support grant development, funder reporting, and site visits Beacon Network & Agency Leadership: Participate in Beacon Network meetings, trainings, and committees Fulfill all ExCEL Program Manager responsibilities Represent and advance GSFRC's mission, values, and culture Other Responsibilities: Keeps the mission and values of GSFRC and the Beacon Community School Model in alignment and at the forefront of all programmatic decisions. Participates in scheduled Good Samaritan Leadership Team meetings and agency events as needed. Participates in GSFRC fundraising events and other key organizational events, as needed. Represents the mission and vision of GSFRC at city-wide cohorts, meetings, and committees Serves as a positive, solution-oriented leader of GSFRC Beacon Bryant Elementary Site. Attends and participates in regular staff and supervision meetings. Ensures accurate, complete, and timely preparation of HR documentation as requested and oversees approval of bi-weekly timesheets of staff. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Youth Services. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in education, social services, administration, or related field and 3+ years of program administration experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience; or 710 years of relevant professional experience Demonstrated success supervising staff and managing complex programs Strong understanding of youth development, equity, cultural and community-based work Experience working in schools and with diverse communities Desired Qualifications: CPR/First Aid certification preferred Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred Requirements: Must complete a full background check (Department of Justice, FBI, Child Abuse Index) after conditional offer is made. Must have TB clearance Requires a valid California Driver's License and clean driving record Must complete and maintain current California Mandated Reporter Training certification, in compliance with California state law.
