Associate Regulatory Analyst
Supports the development of regulatory filings, including work papers, documentation, analyses, and discovery responses. Assists in implementation of approved rates. Supports rate case filings by performing cost allocation and rate design studies, and other technical analyses. Monitors and analyzes regulatory changes. Provides information to ensure compliance with regulatory commission directives. Provides research or gathers supporting information that may be presented to regulators, internal and external counsel, and outside consultants. Provides information and performs studies to enable preparation of expert written and oral testimony. Ensures the Tariff conform to regulatory requirements and obligations. Responsibilities
Provide support to various departments regarding the application of and compliance with rates, tariff and regulations Gathers, reviews, and documents financial and operating information used in support of various tariff filings and compliance reports. Supports implementation of rate changes in billing system Supports invoice review process and the development of regulatory filings Prepares work papers, documentation, analyses, and discovery responses in support of rate case filings Provides information and performs studies to enable preparation of expert written and oral testimony. Serves as a point of contact for internal regulatory inquiries and provide timely and accurate responses Qualifications
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics degree preferred. Associate Regulatory Analyst - 0-2 years of experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience. Regulatory Analyst - 2-5 years of experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience. Senior Regulatory Analyst - 5 years of experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced finance, accounting and/or tax concepts, and regulatory issues. Advanced computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective oral communication, written communication, presentation, coaching, and teaching skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to monitor, evaluate and respond to regulatory changes. Ability to provide both written and oral testimony in formal rate proceedings to regulators. About Us
