Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Specialist
Under the direction of the site Manager Vertiv Operating System (VOS) leader, the Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Specialist will: Serve as a change agent by driving the Vertiv VOS cultural transformation and the adoption of successful Lean process improvement practices and by diagnosing barriers to project success and facilitating resolution Duties will include execution of projects, data analysis and preparation, and sustaining Vertiv's VOS methodologies Share responsibility for process improvement with VOS Manager Partner with the local VOS manager to develop and deploy VOS strategy Assess data and identify improvement opportunities Work closely with process leaders to ensure teams have the right data, tools, and clarification of problems statements Support VOS audits (Tier 1 to Tet 4), 5S+, etc. Monitor and report overall progress to the VOS Manager Facilitate VOS activities assigned for plant improvements Assist with cascading targets to the process and aligning operator-level KPIs Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of 3 plus years' experience 3 to 5 years in Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma CI initiatives in manufacturing, or operations environments Demonstrated facilitation, coaching, and problem solving capability. Proven track record of operational execution Prior experience in leading diverse teams to achieve a common goal Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, statistical analysis, and presentation software. Ability to interact with all levels within the organization Ability to work within a matrix management environment Work with minimal supervision Ability to understand customer / client issues and creatively apply solutions to real-world issues with world-class result Ability to organize and schedule people and tasks; Use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans; manage multiple projects Execution orientated, with a strong sense of urgency around tangible results Able to demonstrate leadership without formal authority Strong written and oral communication / presentations skills Work well in a team environment, with sound negotiation and issue resolution skills Excellent Facilitation skills Ability to assume a role of authority as necessary; advocate new ideas, even when risk is involved; delegate responsibility and empower teams to make decisions; provide constructive feedback to others Ability to apply systems thinking to generate solutions; focus on process rather than isolated events; Use tools to define problems; Be systematic in identifying problem areas and opportunities Being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
