Overview The Trade Operations Executive will play a crucial role in executing trading deals within the Crude Oil area, managing logistics, and ensuring the seamless operation of trading and shipping activities. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of experience in trade operations, with a strong background in both trading and shipping. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external partners to facilitate the successful completion of trading transactions and logistics management.
Key Responsibilities Trading Deal Execution
Execute trading deals in Crude, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Collaborate with traders, clients, and counterparties to confirm deal details and manage the lifecycle of each trade from inception to completion.
Monitor market conditions, shipping schedules, and other factors that may impact the execution of trades.
Act as a central point for Crude movements, inventory positions and scheduling across terminals and storage facilities.
Logistics and Shipping Management
Handle all aspects of logistics related to the trading deals, including coordination of shipping schedules, freight forwarding, and vessel chartering.
Work closely with shipping and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of products.
Resolve any issues related to shipping, such as delays, demurrage, or discrepancies, and ensure that products reach their destinations as planned.
Documentation and Compliance
Prepare, review, and manage all trade-related documentation.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and logistics activities in the company's systems.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with trading and shipping operations, including market, operational, and compliance risks.
Ensure that all trades and logistics activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including sanctions and export controls.
Work closely with the compliance team to address any potential issues.
Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, suppliers, shipping companies, and other external partners involved in the trade and logistics process.
Facilitate communication between all parties to ensure smooth execution of trades and efficient logistics operations.
Provide clients and stakeholders with regular updates on the status of trades and shipments.
Reporting and Analysis
Generate detailed reports on trading and logistics operations, including trade execution, shipping schedules, and cost analysis.
Analyse trading and logistics data to identify trends, optimize operations, and improve profitability.
Present insights and recommendations to the management team based on the analysis.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements in trade execution and logistics management.
Implement best practices and innovations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
Contribute to the development and training of junior team members in trading and logistics operations.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
2-7 years of experience in Crude trade operations within O&G industry with a proven track record in trading and shipping.
Knowledge
In-depth understanding of crude oil trading and global physical markets.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, sanctions, and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP experience is an advantage).
Experience working with terminals, storage facilities, and inspection companies.
Skills
Strong understanding of crude oil logistics, including tanker operations, chartering, freight, and terminal coordination.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with capacity to manage multiple cargoes simultaneously.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
