Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Technical Editor and Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions organization. A Technical Editor and Writer is responsible to write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively, technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences to include military personnel. This position requires the initiative to acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. This position also requires active participation in overseeing the preparation of illustrative materials, including the selection of drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Furthermore, this position requires quality reviews of technical manuals. The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR a Masters degree with 0 years of relevant experience. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on maintenance experience with RQ4 unmanned aircraft &/or ground segment systems such as USAF Global Hawk, FMS ROK and Japan, NATO AGS, or MQ-4 Triton programs are highly desirable. Experienced with using the Interactive, Electronic, Technical Manuals (IETM) Operations and Maintenance Manual (OMM), the development process and participation in Customer Validation and Verification (CVV) events.
