We are hiring a
Senior Records Specialist
for one of our clients in
Morris Plains, NJ.
Job Description:
Establishes policies for the medical records department. Develops and supervises a system to maintain complete and confidential medical records. Supervise the release of information to physicians, insurance companies, courts, and others in accordance with departmental policy, New Jersey laws, and other regulations affecting medical records. Establishes, indexes, and periodically review data requirements; establishes, reviews, and amends mechanical information systems as necessary to comply with new legislation or demands for new data. Reviews and supervises there view of medical records for completeness and accuracy; initiates procedures to facilitate prompt completion of records by physicians; refers incomplete or inaccurate records for correction. Assists the medical staff in developing admissions, length of stay, extended stay criteria, audit criteria, and other policies and procedures to assure compliance with the standards set by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals, Social Security Administration, Professional Standard Review organizations, and other regulatory agencies. Supervise the filing, withdrawing, and issuance of records and files to authorized personnel. Supervises the work operations and/or functional programs and has responsibility for effectively recommending the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting and/or disciplining of employees. Evaluates and revises medical records procedures and forms to identify more efficient and complete methods of maintaining medical records and data. Skills required:
Certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator by American Health Information Management Association Four (4) years of experience in a medical records department of a hospital Two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Work hours:
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Lunch period: 12:30pm-1:30pm Notes:
