Commercial Director

A celebrated luxury destination hotel in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an exceptional and visionary Commercial Director to drive the overall commercial strategy for the property. The Commercial Director is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and implementing strategic initiatives that generate and maximize total revenues across all segments. This role requires expertise in sales, revenue management, marketing, digital strategy, brand positioning, events, and public relations to create a positive impact across all operational departments and ensure a profitable return on investment. The Director will lead, inspire, and support the Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and Events teams while maintaining strong interdepartmental collaboration and elevating the property's profile within the community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive and oversee integrated commercial strategies for the hotel. Connect strategy and business processes. Business processes should be designed to impact all revenue streams, including focus on Rooms, Catering, Parking, Retail, Offices, Food & Beverage. Demonstrated experience successfully repositioning a hotel or hospitality brand in competitive markets, including the development and execution of strategies that elevate brand perception, capture new target audiences, and drive measurable business growth. Lead the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales, events, and marketing channels to achieve hotel's revenue goals and increase target market share performance. Measure and report impact and ROI of email marketing initiatives and social media initiatives, along with collaborate and evaluate potential partnerships with Director of MarCom& DORM to manage marketing funnel from awareness phase to purchase. Work with Commercial Leaders to establish optimal business mix, review and validate revenue forecasts to improve accuracy while developing strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies. Develop and maintain detailed and real time knowledge of all competitor and market activity. Monitor key indicators of hotel performance and third-party intelligence sources to identify revenue opportunities. Stay current with industry changes and how it may impact demand. Build strong relationships with DMO, community groups, influencers and 3rd party travel partners, in conjunction with a high level of engagement with customers from all sales segments. QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience as a commercial strategist in hospitality, driving integration of Sales, Revenue Management, Digital, and Brand within upper-upscale or luxury hotel environments. Successful track record opening or reimagining hotels or similar high-profile projects. Advanced analytical and strategic planning skills with a future-looking commercial approach. Innovative thinker and calculated risk-taker with a competitive, persistent attitude. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with a talent for mentoring and developing future leaders. Strong financial acumen with the ability to communicate commercial strategy using clear KPIs. Luxury-centric mindset with a sophisticated, professional presence and exemplary communication skills. Proven ability to foster an engaging, trust-based workplace culture rooted in respect and integrity.
