The Dining Server is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests by providing courteous and efficient table service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and ensuring dining areas are welcoming and sanitary. This role supports daily meal service as well as special events, assists with food preparation and cost control, and collaborates with team members to uphold Cedarhurst's dining standards. The Dining Server also communicates effectively with residents and families, responds to individual dining needs, and contributes to a safe and positive environment that reflects the company's commitment to quality service and resident wellbeing. Essential functions include assisting with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions, ensuring smooth execution and resident satisfaction; promptly taking food and beverage orders and delivering service to residents and guests in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner; maintaining a clean and sanitary work area by washing pots, pans, and utensils used in meal preparation, following all food safety standards; clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables; disposing of trash and cleaning containers; and completing daily checklists to ensure kitchen and dining areas are consistently maintained. Additionally, the Dining Server assists with cleaning dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs after meals and events, and ensures sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are completed at the end of each shift. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent required, up to two years of prior experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired. Relevant state or county licensure preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed. CPR or BLS certification preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable. Working conditions may require walking or standing for extended periods and moving throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas of the community. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as climb or balance. This position may need to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance. Individuals in this position are required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. This role involves actively participating in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale. The individual will contribute as a collaborative team player, working alongside colleagues to create a supportive and cohesive work environment. Individuals in this position are required to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives.
