
Communications Specialist

We are hiring a Communications Specialist to execute day‑to‑day communications across the company. This role focuses on execution, consistency, and speed—helping to ensure employees and external stakeholders receive clear, timely information.
This is a hands‑on role in a lean team led by the SVP who oversees Corporate Communications; Sustainability; Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS); Regulatory; and Government Affairs. The person in this role will create content, manage internal channels, support leadership communications, and help run company meetings and events. The role requires someone who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Messaging Support
Draft and edit internal communications (emails, announcements, newsletters)
Support leadership communications, including presentations and talking points
Assist with external materials such as press releases and reports
Maintain a simple editorial calendar to keep communications on track
Internal Communications
Publish content across internal channels (SharePoint intranet, First Up, email, newsletters)
Help ensure messages are clear and consistent across the company
Support employee engagement efforts in partnership with HR
Track basic engagement metrics (email opens, intranet traffic) and adjust as needed
Website & Digital Updates
Coordinate with external vendors when needed
Post and maintain content on company social channels via Sprout Social
Support basic digital campaigns (email, web updates, social posts)
Intranet & Content Management
Maintain the SharePoint intranet – Opportunity to optimize the user experience
Upload and manage documents and content
Follow established standards for publishing and version control
Meetings & Events
Support execution of company‑wide meetings and town halls (Microsoft Teams)
Manage logistics such as scheduling, materials, and basic setup
General Support
Help prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials
Maintain organized files, templates, and communications materials
Provide additional support to the broader team as needed, in the areas of Sustainability and EHS
Qualifications
2‑5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
Strong writing and editing skills
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment
Experience with basic tools:
WordPress (website updates)
SharePoint (content publishing)
Microsoft Teams
Email platforms and basic analytics tools
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or similar
