
Communications Manager

The Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the school by crafting compelling, mission-driven communications that attract prospective students and their families and ensure the visibility and strong reputation of Sacred Heart Academy (SHA). Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that authentically convey the school’s Catholic identity, academic excellence, and commitment to forming young women of faith, scholarship, and service. The Communications Manager serves as a primary storyteller for the school, supporting enrollment goals through targeted outreach, digital engagement, and high-quality content across platforms, working closely with the Admissions CRM platform.
Responsibilities Admissions & Enrollment Communications Develop and execute a comprehensive communications calendar aligned with the annual admissions cycle, including open house events, application deadlines, and enrollment milestones.
Write, design, and produce persuasive print and digital materials for prospective students and families, including view books, brochures, letters, email campaigns, and program fact sheets.
Craft personalized, relationship-centered outreach communications at each stage of the enrollment funnel, from initial inquiry through deposit and matriculation.
Partner closely with the admissions and marketing team to align messaging strategies with enrollment targets and institutional priorities.
Manage yield communications to admitted students, including event invitations, scholarship notifications, and “why choose us” campaigns tailored to the interests of prospective families.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Develop and manage paid digital advertising campaigns targeting prospective families in the school’s geographic and demographic markets.
Maintain and update admissions-related website content, ensuring accurate, engaging, and SEO-optimized pages that reflect current programs, tuition, and deadlines.
Monitor and report engagement analytics and adjust communications strategies to maximize reach, inquiry conversion, and event attendance.
Content Development & Brand Stewardship Produce original written and multimedia content that highlights student achievement, faculty distinction, co-curricular programs, and the school’s Catholic mission and values.
Ensure all external-facing communications reflect consistent brand voice, visual identity, and Catholic identity standards.
Interview students, alumnae, faculty, and families to source compelling stories that support recruitment and enrollment messaging.
Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team on institutional publications and broader school communications as needed.
Event Support Develop pre- and post-event marketing communications for Open Houses, Shadow Days, Placement Test events, and Accepted Student Days.
Support on-site communications logistics at admissions events, including signage, presentations, registration forms and promotional materials.
Coordinate with alumnae and parent ambassador programs to amplify word-of-mouth recruitment efforts.
Relationship Management Assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of prospective student data in the Admissions CRM throughout the enrollment process.
Support the Director of Admissions & Enrollment as a communications liaison with feeder Catholic elementary and middle schools, parish communities, and community partners to increase the school’s visibility among prospective families.
Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from prospective students and families via email, phone, and social media in coordination with the Marketing Media Manager.
Support the Senior Director of Marketing with external vendor relationships including print vendors, photographers, videographers, and advertising agencies.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations; experience in an educational setting preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write for diverse audiences, including teenagers and parents.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms ("Constant Contact", "Salesforce", "Emma", or equivalent), CMS platforms, and social media management tools.
Experience with digital advertising (Meta Ads, Google Ads) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
Commitment to and understanding of Catholic education and the school’s mission of forming young women in faith and scholarship.
Preferred Experience working in Catholic secondary or higher education admissions or marketing.
Familiarity with enrollment management CRM systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Finalsite, or similar).
Graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
Experience with photo and video production and editing for social media or marketing purposes.
Understanding of the unique motivations and concerns of families exploring all-girls education.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is a primarily in‑person role based at the school campus. The Communications Manager is expected to be present at key admissions events, which may occur on select evenings and weekends throughout the academic year. Occasional lifting of event materials (up to 25 lbs.) may be required. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for attendance at feeder school and community outreach events.
