
Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

T&M Associates is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to help strengthen and scale our cybersecurity program. This role focuses on security governance, monitoring, compliance, and leadership within a modern IT environment, while supporting strategic initiatives and mentoring team members. This is a senior individual contributor role focused primarily on Security Operations & Engineering in a Microsoft environment, with meaningful ownership of compliance readiness (CMMC/NIST). They will own configuration and tuning Microsoft Defender policies, Conditional Access, endpoint onboarding, and detection improvement with MDR.
Key Responsibilities
Support cybersecurity governance, policies, risk assessments, and compliance efforts (e.g., CMMC, NIST) Monitor and respond to security events across Microsoft Defender, Azure, identity platforms, and network systems Partner with Arctic Wolf (MDR) to investigate alerts, coordinate incident response, and improve detection processes Implement and manage security solutions across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network environments Serve as a security SME; mentor IT staff and promote best practices Contribute to security architecture, tool evaluation, and long-term security strategy Qualifications
7+ years in cybersecurity or information security Experience with security operations, incident response, and risk management Familiarity with Microsoft security ecosystem (Defender, Azure, Entra ID) Experience with compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST, ISO 27001) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience working with MDR/SOC providers (e.g., Arctic Wolf) Experience with Okta, Fortinet, Cisco environments preferred. Knowledge of Zero Trust and cloud security best practices preferred. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, AZ-500, CEH) preferred.

T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $130,000 - $165,000The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
