Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to build Digital Fabrication, a studio course within Fine Arts. This introductory course explores digital fabrication, which is a rapidly evolving field at the intersection of fine arts, design, and engineering. Students will develop foundational skills using vector-based software and fabrication technologies to create functional, conceptual, and artistic works. The curriculum introduces both technical skills and creative exploration, guiding students through iterative design processes, troubleshooting, and fundamental material properties. Students will learn essential studio practices, including safety protocols for equipment and shared workspace etiquette. Upon completing the course, students will possess the introductory skills and understanding necessary to begin integrating digital fabrication methods into their artistic and design practices. RMCAD seeks a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design the course curriculum, ensuring it is prepared for launch.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with instructional designers and fellow faculty members to develop an engaging and innovating course Mentor and support students in their creative and technical endeavors, fostering an applied and experiential learning environment Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of our Fine Arts Program Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher Experience in course design and development processes for in-person and online delivery Proven track record of successful experiential and applied approaches to student learning Experience or knowledge of fine arts education at the college level, and proficiency in using learning management systems and online teaching tools to support instruction
