Technical and functional knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning RMAN and Data Guard across multiple methods/technologies Root cause analysis of Oracle database systems Scripting and automation in Oracle database environments NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

Experience in Higher Education environments (complex, multi-stakeholder ecosystems) Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience presenting technical and numerical information effectively Familiarity with advanced Oracle features (multitenancy, compression, partitioning, cloud tooling) Experience with Exadata patching and lifecycle management DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The organization is replacing its current Exadata Cloud at Customer (C@C) X9 infrastructure with new Exadata Cloud at Customer (C@C) X11 systems. High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) will be implemented as part of the migration process.

The engagement will result in the migration of all databases (ERP and non-ERP) from the X9 to the X11 architecture, including the configuration of HA and DR environments.

This role is for a senior Oracle DBA to lead and support database migration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across environments.

Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing current Exadata architecture and designing future-state architecture Creating and executing database migration strategies and plans Migrating databases to new Exadata environments using multiple methods Performing performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation Supporting database environments leveraging Oracle 19.x and newer versions Working with technologies including RMAN, Data Guard, and Exadata tooling Applying advanced Oracle features such as multitenancy, compression, partitioning, and cloud management packs Supporting patching (including Exadata Critical Patch Updates)

The consultant will collaborate closely with internal personnel to complete the engagement. Work may require flexibility, including off-hours or weekend support tied to maintenance and migration activities.
