Tax Preparer
Job Type: Seasonal / Temporary (February-April, with potential extension) Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible Hours Available) Location: Ocean Springs, MS Responsibilities
Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns (1040, 1120S, 1065, etc.) Gather and organize client financial information and documentation Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations Communicate with clients to clarify tax matters and request additional information Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and planning opportunities Maintain strict confidentiality of client information Meet deadlines and productivity goals during peak season Requirements
Previous experience preparing tax returns in a CPA firm or public accounting environment Strong knowledge of current federal and state tax regulations Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSeries, or similar) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and client service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines PTIN required (or ability to obtain before start date)
