Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and related mechanical equipment

Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis initially in a support role and later as a project lead

Perform calculations, engineering analysis, computer analyses and simulations and technical reporting

Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery and mechanical systems

Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participate in professional societies

Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance

Regular and predictable physical presence in the office

Long term goal to become testifying expert

Position Requirements:

B.S in Mechanical Engineering required

Degree from ABET accredited program

F.E. strongly preferred

Once eligible, P.E. will be required

Vehicular knowledge and desire to learn Vehicular Accident Reconstruction and Failure Analysis is a must

NHTSA or Vehicle Safety background is a plus

Strong written and oral communication skills

Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must

Computer aided drawing skills is a plus

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Public speaking experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel 40% of the time, largely locally, driving distance

Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Ability to drive to site locations in all conditions

Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
