Director Of Information Technology
Montebello Unified School District is seeking a Director of Information Technology. The salary range is $158,557.92 - $192,474.00 annually. The position is full-time and is located at the District Office in CA. The job number is 25-03-DOIT-RS and the department is Information Systems. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for creating and developing a vision and mission statement aligning with the educational goals and objectives of the Board, Superintendent, and District to serve the communities. This position is responsible for coordinating, directing, managing, and supervising the district's information technology department and program. Responsibilities include the consideration, coordination, and selection as well as utilization of all hardware and software, and recommending related technology to meet the needs of the administrative and instructional programs. Essential duties and responsibilities include planning, organizing, leading, directing, developing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of Information Technology including the purchase, installation, maintenance, and repair of computers, networks, telecommunications equipment, and systems. The Director is expected to provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of information technology applications and systems, and to evaluate the performance of personnel assigned to informational technology. Minimum qualifications include knowledge of planning, organization, and direction of the Information Technology Department and current and new technologies, preventative maintenance procedures, effective techniques for assessing and analyzing user needs, data management and substantial relational database systems theory, current technology, software applications, office methods and practices, industry-standard network operating systems, California Administrative Code, Education Code, Building Codes, Health and Safety Code, and Public Contracts Code, budget processes and fiscal management, and operation of various computers, operating systems and software, network systems and software, including the Internet. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, manage multiple projects simultaneously, solve practical problems, interpret instructions, estimate time, materials, labor, and costs, determine priorities and schedule work economically, effectively, and efficiently, analyze complex issues, formulate reports, organize and present data, plan, organize, control, and direct the activities of an information technology department, coordinate the selection and utilization of computer hardware and software, administer efficient web services and implement immediate repairs, provide leadership in the development of information management systems and educational technology application, manage and supervise a diverse workforce, work independently with little direction along with ability to meet schedules and time constraints and deadlines. Education, training, and experience requirements include a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in either computer science, management information systems, or business administration, and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering, networking, communications, and operating systems for information technology management with a minimum of five (5) years of management responsibility. Experience serving as a Director or higher level within a government agency. Experience with grant submission is highly desirable. School district experience preferred with responsibility for information technology. A master's or doctoral degree is preferred. California Driver License (Class "C" minimum) and remain insurable at the standard rate. Physical and mental demands include using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, standing, walking, reaching, balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and working near moving and electrical parts.
