Business Development & Marketing Manager - NYC Law Firm - $150-175k - Hybrid
Current/prior law firm/legal industry experience is 100% required!
Overview
As a Business Development & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and enhancing the firm’s brand equity within the legal industry. This role sits at the intersection of strategic growth and tactical execution, requiring a professional who can navigate the complexities of a large‑firm environment to support practice groups and individual partners in winning new business.
Key Responsibilities Partner with Practice Group Leaders to develop and execute formal business development plans; identify market trends and cross‑selling opportunities.
Lead the end‑to‑end process for RFPs and pitches, including drafting high‑stakes content, conducting competitor research, and coaching partners on presentation delivery.
Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, practice descriptions, and attorney biographies; manage the firm’s participation in key industry rankings (e.g., Chambers USA).
Strategize and execute client‑facing events, webinars, and sponsorships designed to strengthen key relationships and visibility.
Utilize CRM systems to track pipeline activity, analyze the ROI of marketing initiatives, and maintain accurate experience databases.
Qualifications 5+ years of business development or marketing experience within a large law firm or professional services environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (JD or MBA is a plus).
Exceptional writing and editing capabilities; proficiency in CRM software (e.g., InterAction, OnePlace) and pitch management tools.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior partners; high degree of emotional intelligence and project management expertise.
