This opportunity supports a large public transportation authority located in Dallas, Texas that operates bus, light rail, commuter rail, and mobility programs across a multi-city service area. The agency maintains a high volume of public-facing communications and relies heavily on clear, concise, and engaging written content to support rider communication, public information campaigns, service updates, and community outreach initiatives. Copywriting within this environment includes the development of advertising copy, transit messaging, brochures, website content, service alerts, and branded communications that must be accurate, accessible, and consistent across multiple platforms.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in supporting these efforts by developing written content that effectively communicates with diverse audiences while maintaining strict adherence to brand standards and public sector communication requirements.

JOB SUMMARY The Mid-Level Copywriter will be responsible for creating, editing, and proofreading content that supports marketing, branding, and communications initiatives. The role focuses on developing clear and compelling messaging for both print and digital platforms, including advertisements, brochures, web content, and public communications. The position requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining consistency and accuracy. Candidates must be able to collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure that all content aligns with organizational voice and messaging standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop written content for print and digital platforms including advertisements, brochures, website content, and service communications

Edit and proofread materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency

Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop messaging strategies and campaign content

Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and communication guidelines

Adapt tone and messaging for different audiences, platforms, and communication objectives

Revise content based on feedback from stakeholders and project managers

Manage multiple writing assignments while meeting deadlines

Maintain organized documentation and version control for all written materials

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in copywriting, advertising, or communications

Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and grammatically correct content

Experience writing for both print and digital platforms

Ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment

SKILLS

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Excellent grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail

Ability to adapt writing style and tone for different audiences

Strong organizational and time management skills

Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Word

Ability to interpret creative direction and incorporate feedback effectively

AVAILABILITY

Monday through Friday

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Additional hours may be required based on project demands

COMPENSATION

Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour
