Territory Sales and Specifications Manager Southern Nevada/Inland Empire California
The Territory Sales and Specifications Manager is responsible for covering Southern Nevada and the Inland Empire California markets. The position will have responsibilities for leading specifications, account management and sales. The ideal candidate will focus on architects, interior designers, national accounts, furniture dealers, end users, etc., to secure specifications of decorative surfacing products, and close sales through distribution/direct accounts. A short list of your tasks and responsibilities include: Act as key member of larger specification team within the assigned geographic area Work closely with Territory Managers to track & close specified projects Act as part of the market team with Territory Managers, Region Sales Manager, National Segment Manager, Inside Sales, distributor reps and distributor A&D reps Provide interaction with local distributor branches to facilitate project tracking, execution of A&D initiatives and distributor specification representative coaching Knowledge of Territory/Assigned Markets Preferred Demonstrated Ability to Provide Solutions to Customers Ability to Present Value Propositions to Overcome Price Discussions/Negotiations Effectively Balance Internal Relationships with External Customer Demands Partner with distributors to facilitate project tracking, train and develop specifications/sales associates on products/new line launches, and act as liaison between Formica and distribution. The primary objective for this position is to manage the architectural and design specification process and will be responsible for specifications generated through the territory that might be built locally, Nationally or Globally. The incumbent will be expected to create awareness for the Formica brand and products within the architectural, design and specification communities. He/ she will obtain specifications for Formica's family of products, identify high value projects in the planning stages to target for sales, assist Formica personnel in bringing those projects to close and assist/ educate applicators, installers and dealers relative to the beneficial use of Formica branded products. This role will communicate and collaborate with the sales organization to ensure promotion of Formica's brand and products resulting in revenue creation. Support Territory Managers at the dealer level to increase sales of Formica products. Work with the Marketing organization to develop promotional tools. Collaborate with Customer Service Representatives. We're looking for a self-starter who meets the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar discipline Minimum of 5 years' experience selling architecturally specified products, background in construction materials required, LEED AP or GA preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation/ demonstration skills, knowledge of computer systems/programs, demonstrated ability to organize and manage time, demonstrated sales ability, knowledge of local/ regional markets preferred and the ability to travel as necessary. Identify new opportunities to achieve specifications/sales objectives. Secure specifications and track opportunities via Salesforce to ensure material is sold via distribution/direct accounts. Provide high-level support to specifiers, distributors, fabricators, end users, etc. Conduct product presentations and continuing education presentations within assigned territory. Ability to Present Value Propositions to Overcome Price Discussions/Negotiations Identify and understand competitive landscape in assigned territory and report findings. Prepare monthly forecasts and ad hoc reports to track performance and achieve sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Maintain product and program knowledge to effectively present entire portfolio of products to customers. Engage support from the Regional Sales Manager and Regional A&D (Architecture & Design) Specifications Manager to align the needs of sales tools with marketing initiatives.
