Job Description Long-Term Substitute Student and Community Engagement Specialist Needed
Location: Champlain Valley School District

Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Long-Term Substitute Student and Community Engagement Specialist for the remainder of FY26. This role is essential in supporting the department’s mission to foster inclusive, data-driven, and culturally responsive practices.
Working closely with the Director, facilitators, and cultural advisors, this position focuses on data analysis, grant management, and the development of proactive onboarding processes for multilingual (ML) students and their families.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the Director and facilitators in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting internal department data; assist in the preparation and presentation of findings to stakeholders to inform strategies.
Support the Director in implementing new grant reporting methods while ensuring compliance and accurate tracking of program outcomes.
Collaborate with Cultural Advisors and Consultants to evaluate current orientation experiences.
Identify key insights and best practices to develop a proactive onboarding framework for future multilingual (ML) students and their families throughout their journey within the district.
Perform other duties and assignments as directed to support the overall goals of the Student and Community Engagement Department.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
Current Vermont Professional Educators License (or the ability to obtain one).
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field (preferred).
Previous experience in a K-12 school district, community engagement, or family support role is highly desirable.
Strong ability to interpret and present complex data clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills, particularly regarding grant reporting, compliance, and managing multiple priorities.
A deep understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of multilingual learners and their families.
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and/or various data management systems.
A proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with administrative staff, facilitators, and cultural advisors.
