within funeral service and/or cremation operations.

Position Summary The Location Manager oversees daily operations at Romeoville crematory location, ensuring smooth workflow, compliance, and compassionate service to client families. This position directly supervises staff, coordinates logistics, manages documentation, and maintains the facility’s operational standards. The Location Manager serves as the on-site leader and key liaison to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities Daily Operations Oversee all day-to-day crematory and office functions to ensure timely, efficient service. Review and approve cremation files for completeness and accuracy before scheduling. Perform cremations and related physical tasks as needed, ensuring all processes follow regulatory standards. Maintain facility readiness and professional appearance at all times.

Staff Leadership Supervise on-site staff, including office personnel, funeral directors, crematory operators, and field agents. Manage daily schedules, on-call rotations, and coverage for removals and deliveries. Provide direction, feedback, and support to foster a positive and accountable work culture.

Documentation & Compliance Complete and process cremation permits, death certificates, and related documentation through IVRS and VitalChek. Upload all approved paperwork into the company’s computer program (SRS Computing) for transparency and recordkeeping. Ensure all documentation and processes meet company and state compliance requirements.

Facility & Equipment Oversight Monitor crematory and building equipment, reporting issues promptly to the Director of Operations. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the facility.

Inventory & Supplies Track and reorder cremation and office supplies to prevent shortages. Maintain accurate inventory logs and communicate purchasing needs to the Director of Operations.

Client & Family Services Meet with families for witness cremations or private viewings, ensuring a respectful and professional experience. Step in to assist with family arrangements when senior staff are unavailable. Support the company’s commitment to compassionate and timely care.

Trade & Partner Relations Maintain professional communication with local funeral homes and trade accounts. Coordinate scheduling and pickup/delivery of cremated remains. Support efforts to build and sustain positive relationships with external partners.

Qualifications Illinois Licensed Funeral Director in good standing (required). 10+ years of experience in funeral or cremation service management. Strong understanding of state and federal cremation and death care regulations. Proficient in SRS Computing or other case management or scheduling systems. Proficient in all aspects of IVRS, including opening a new case to finalizing a case.

Skills Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work calmly under pressure. High emotional intelligence and commitment to serving families with dignity and compassion.

Physical Requirements Primary work performed at the Romeoville crematory and office environment. Regular exposure to high temperatures, noise, and mechanical equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
