Property and Housing Specialist
Posting Summary
The Property and Housing Specialist is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of UVM Real Estate's Operations (REO) and oversight and management of student housing for Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) students. The role supports all aspects of LCOM student housing, including long- and short-term needs, while also supporting REO's efforts with off-campus housing initiatives for all UVM faculty, staff, and students, on-campus housing resources for UVM employees, confidential real estate transactions, and the needs of on-campus commercial tenants. The Specialist oversees internal and external tracking, reporting, and analysis of LCOM housing and REO initiatives. Working closely with Real Estate Operations Team members, General Counsel, and various UVM units, the Specialist provides support for safe, equitable housing to LCOM students and considerable assistance with complex and confidential university leases and other negotiated agreements. The Property and Housing Specialist reports to the Real Estate Director and the Office of General Counsel.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field such as project or property management, housing, urban planning, development, legal, or real estate, with three years of related experience required.
Demonstrated experience with communications, operations, leadership, and business technologies.
Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, relational databases and the Internet required.
Effective written and verbal communication, organizational, customer service and problem‑solving skills required.
Ability to multi‑task and be detail oriented to complete tasks.
Effective interpersonal skills – team player and ability to succeed working independently.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with lease administration, marketing, legal language, student support, budgeting, and document handling.
Anticipated Pay Range $58,000 to $66,000
Special Conditions Non-standard work hours required. Occasional evening and/or weekends may be required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime). Travel to and from worksites required. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy.
