JOB SUMMARY:
The essential function of the Personal Lines Account Manager is to service policies for personal lines customers, including quoting, presenting, and selling additional policies.
The Account Manager should have professional speech, manners, work ethic, and physical appearance. Our agency strives to meet sales, service, and quality standards to enhance policy and client retention through streamlined and consistent agency procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Quote all lines of personal lines coverage and present to the client/prospect.
Actively solicit expansion in coverage by rounding accounts to both new and current clients.
Actively seek referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects.
Actively refer clients to Life & Health, Employee Benefit and Commercial Lines department for solicitation of new business.
Explain coverage and exclusions to clients as necessary, documenting in agency management system the information furnished or discussed. Obtain signed rejection forms when suggested coverage is declined or send a confirmation letter to the client indicating coverage is being declined.
Perform replacement cost estimators on new property quotes.
Maintain customers’ accounts within the agency management system, documenting conversations in client notes, sending confirmations to insured’s and retaining information while adhering to all automation procedures & workflows that are currently in place or may be established.
Prior to policy renewals, review existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance or coverage enhancements should be solicited.
Receive phone calls, client visits, and producer requests for endorsements, cancellations and reinstatements to existing policies.
Handle claim situations as they arise which include but are not limited to taking initial client call, reporting claim to carrier and following through with the adjuster handling the loss.
Maintain own follow-up and suspense file concerning outstanding orders and correspondence.
Keep commercial and benefit producers fully informed of important activities on their client’s account.
Participate in seminars and other industry training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development.
Maintain knowledge of underwriting, coverage enhancements and rating procedures for all types of personal lines policies with all carriers.
Provide assistance to peers when backlog is present.
Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS * Associate's Degree or higher preferred
Must have or be able to obtain licenses within 60 days (Property/Casualty) as required by the State Department of Insurance
