Auto Damage Appraiser - National General

Job Description Responsible for creating comprehensive estimates of damages for first‑ and third‑party material damage claims leading to proper disposition. This role is a field position in Connecticut, primarily serving central CT (coastal and inland). The applicant will act as a peer mentor, having mastered our processes, and manage claims virtually and on field.
The ideal candidate will be located in Connecticut, residing in or near Lyme, Old Lyme, East Lyme, New London, or Groton. Candidates bring experience managing various auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and using CCC ONE estimating software to produce accurate damage estimates. The role works closely with repair facilities and customers to ensure timely, fair, and thorough claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Apply mastered content in interpretation of all policy types written by the company and assist leadership in formal and ad‑hoc training.
Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document all activities in complex files.
Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
Build mastered relationships with internal and external customers.
Apply mastery estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on first‑ and third‑party material damage losses of all severities.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory duties.

Field Adjuster Cons I: $26.49 – $40.99 per hour
Field Adjuster Cons II: $28.03 – $43.70 per hour
Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $35.82 – $50.24 per hour
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components such as incentive pay (e.g., commission or bonus), if applicable.
