About the Role We are seeking a hands‑on Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our fast‑growing technology company as a key contributor within the Global Tax Compliance team. This role focuses primarily on U.S. international tax compliance, with additional support for international tax accounting, domestic compliance inputs, and collaboration with our offshore tax team and external tax consultants.

You will prepare and assist with core U.S. international filings, build technical workpapers, support ASC 740 calculations, and partner closely with teams across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, global operations, offshore resources, and external consulting partners. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical work, large data sets, and building scalable, tech‑forward processes.

What You'll Do U.S. International Tax Compliance (Primary - Hands‑On Preparation) Prepare and support U.S. international tax filings, including:

Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8992 (GILTI), 8993 (FDII), 1118

Collaborate with offshore tax teams to coordinate data packs, review workpapers, validate calculations, and ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Partner with external tax consultants on complex calculations, technical reviews, and compliance support.

Own data gathering and validation from global business partners across ERP systems and data warehouses.

Prepare detailed calculations for:

Earnings & profits (E&P)

GILTI tested income

Subpart F income

Foreign tax credits (FTC) & limitation baskets

FDII and BEAT

Sections 986, 987, and 988 adjustments

Maintain and enhance international tax models, including automation‑ready templates.

Support external advisors with data, draft reviews, comments, and technical validation.

Tax Provision & Reporting Support (ASC 740)

Prepare U.S. international components of the quarterly and annual tax provision, including FDII, FTCs, Sec. 986‑988 adjustments, and Subpart F.

Domestic Compliance Support (Secondary - Contributor Role) Provide data, analytics, and supporting schedules for U.S. federal and state income tax returns prepared by external providers.

Assist with:

Domestic fed to state adjustments

State apportionment factor data (sales, payroll, property)

NOLs, credits, and estimated tax calculations

Coordinate with domestic compliance team leads to align international inputs with consolidated return requirements.

Support post‑acquisition onboarding, including:

Incorporating acquired entities into international compliance workflows

Updating E&P pools and tax attributes

Coordinating with offshore teams and external advisors on inherited compliance obligations

Process Improvement, Automation & Systems

Modernize and scale tax processes by:

Standardizing workpapers

Identifying automation opportunities (Alteryx, Power BI, Python, internal data tools)

Supporting ERP and tax technology enhancements

What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred (not required).

5‑10+ years of U.S. international tax experience (Big 4 or multinational tech company).

Technical expertise in:

Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT

E&P and tax pools

Foreign tax credits & limitation baskets

Foreign tax credits and FDII allocation and apportionment

Hands‑on preparation experience with Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8992/8993, 1118.

Working knowledge of ASC 740 for international operations.

Advanced Excel skills: experience with OneSource, Alteryx, SAP, or similar tools is a plus.

Ability to manage large data sets, work independently, and thrive in a fast‑paced tech environment.

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills; experience in coordinating with offshore teams and external consultants is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits The annual salary range for California is $144,200 to $267,800. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
