We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures while utilizing gained educational knowledge and experience.
Essential Functions
Shadow assigned merchant team to understand buying functions.
Gain exposure to tasks an assistant and associate buyer would be responsible for.
Exposure to buying process and procedure: how do we work together as a team and the essential functions of each position
Exposure to financial reporting and gain an understanding of open to buy and budgets
Retrieval from vendor portals
Working in assortment planning
How to identify trends and adapt them to our consumer
Assistance with production of Visual Assortments by brand for current buying seasons via Power Point
Possible review of DC on hand product and manual allocation of product to stores after analysis of inventories by stores
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good research and analytical skills
Knowledge of copywriting and editing
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
Minimum Requirements
Must be detail oriented
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
Must have the ability to collaborate with a team and contribute to insights
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in an office environment.
Occasional lifting and carrying of product samples (up to 20 lbs).
Frequent use of a computer, including typing and viewing a screen for extended periods.
Ability to travel to local stores or vendor meetings as needed.
Occasional bending, reaching, and organizing merchandise samples.
Work Environment This job is done in a traditional office environment. There will be extended periods of sitting.
