Description
Remote in NC. We are seeking a GIS Specialist – Expert to join this team on a contract engagement. This person will maintain and edit GIS data in the multi-user enterprise environment, apply versioning strategies and linear referencing tools, oversee other specialists, update versioning workflows, produce progress reports, and fulfill routine data and map requests. The role requires deep expertise in enterprise database management, advanced QA/QC execution, and the ability to work independently with complex, multi-user datasets at scale. This is a data compilation and data integrity role – not a cartography or map design position.
Adjacent / Preferred Skills
Hydrography layer work (streams) and understanding of stream network data
Experience with enterprise database reporting and query
Experience mentoring or overseeing GIS staff
Additional Skills & Qualifications
7+ years of relevant GIS experience in enterprise environments
Advanced expertise in enterprise database and linear referencing datasets
Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro tools for data management and editing
Experience with branch versioning strategies in multi-user environments
Complex enterprise multi-user data maintenance skills
Ability to create and execute QA/QC processes
Hands‑on enterprise database query experience
Strong organizational skills and ability to produce progress reports
Preferred: Hydrography layer or stream network data experience
Preferred: Experience in digital delivery workflows for data
Preferred: Familiarity with ADA data compliance standards
Experience Level Expert Level
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 – $53.00/hr.
