Salary : $18.05 hourly, negotiable based on experience and qualifications;
Location : Central Area/Cocoa Transit Center;
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May include evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.
This role performs entry‑level office and clerical work in receiving, recording, screening, and dispatching messages via radio and telephone. Work involves maintaining contact with drivers through a radio dispatch system.
Requirements
Six (6) months of clerical experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
Radio dispatching experience and knowledge of local geography is preferred.
All applicants must fill out and sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character and must successfully complete a criminal and personal background investigation conducted by Brevard County and/or another agency.
Work involves sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer screen and requires fine motor skills, good eyesight, hearing, and speaking with the ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone and radio.
The position is safety sensitive per FTA Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations.
Employee must be able to perform emergency duties in case of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man‑made disaster that may threaten the area.
