
Field Specialist

Chevron Shale & Tight Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of Field Specialist at our Tioga, ND plant through April 14th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CST.
The Midstream Field Specialist is responsible for monitoring equipment performance data to optimize Gas Compressor Stations, maximizing free cash flow while ensuring safe and compliant operations. This role requires adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
Performs equipment surveillance, autonomous maintenance, and first‑level response
Operates equipment and understands process controls & flow (start up, shut down)
Communicates work activities accurately in the system (shift changes, log books, SAP follow‑ups)
Responsible for executing continuous improvement activities and providing feedback through appropriate channels
Facilitation of safe work permitting processes
Maintains qualifications for DOT‑regulated line operations
Clearly communicates and works with contractors to comply with applicable Hess policies and procedures
Complies with all Hess Rules and guidance (energy isolation, land transportation, EHS)
Coaches on the safety aspects of the job and work location
Safe management of field compressor stations
Other key contributions from this position are to maintain our Trend, DET, and SAP programs
8/6 schedule, no call while on shift.
Field Time ("go see", meetings/collaboration) – 90%
Desk Time (admin, invoices, data analysis, emails) – 10%
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Industrial / Oilfield background experience
Basic computer skills (Microsoft programs)
Mechanical aptitude
Good communication skills
Knowledge of safety requirements and practices

Leadership / Coaching capabilities
